A life cycle assessment (LCA) is a method of quantifying the environmental impact of a product, throughout its life cycle (“cradle to grave”). In the case of batteries, it spans from the extraction of the materials (mining), through the production and use of the final product, to its reuse or recycling.

A recently completed ISO-certified study of Nordic battery materials and cells reveals clear climate advantages for Nordic battery materials and cell production – confirming the region’s strong position in building a sustainable battery value chain.

Innovation Norway, Business Finland and Business Sweden invite you to the launch webinar of the new Nordic Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) carried out by Minviro, in collaboration with Battery Norway and supported by the Nordic Council of Ministers.Key findings include:

• 51–85% lower carbon footprint for Nordic raw materials compared to global routes
• Up to 55% lower emissions from Nordic cell production
• Up to 36% lower emissions for LFP chemistry versus NMC811
